Company Profile

Jacobs Solutions, previously known as Jacobs Engineering[i], is a U.S. based company that provides consulting, technical, scientific and project delivery services for the government and private sector.[ii]  In September 2024, Jacobs completed the spin-off of its Critical Mission Solutions and Cyber & Intelligence government services businesses, now merged with Amentum.[iii] The spin-off also includes the business segment connected to the management and operation of the Nevada National Security Site.[iv] However, as the findings of this report are based on financial data retrieved before September 2024, Jacobs’ previous involvement in the Nevada National Security Site is still relevant for the purposes of this report, and therefore outlined below.[v] In the financial year ending 29 September 2023, Jacobs generated revenues of $16.4 billion.[vi]

Nuclear weapons

Formerly known as the Nevada Test Site, the Nevada National Security Site maintains facilities related to nuclear weapon modernisation and stockpiling. It retains the capability to resume full- scale nuclear testing within a couple years, at the discretion of the U.S. President.[i] Mission Support and Test Services LLC (MSTS) manages and operates the site.[ii] MSTS is a limited liability company consisting of Honeywell International Inc., Jacobs Solutions Inc., and Stoller Newport News Nuclear, Inc. (SN3), a subsidiary of HII. [iii] The ten-year contract is potentially valued at $10.4 billion and is set to expire in November 2027.[iv]

In January 2024, Jacobs was awarded a £108 million, 10-year contract to supply research and technology services to the United Kingdom's naval nuclear propulsion program, including for the Vanguard nuclear armed submarine.[v]
